Leap into Spring with 3 Coffee Drinks

Seasonal coffee drinks are what keeps coffee interesting throughout the year. While fall and winter drinks usually take the spotlight, we’re celebrating the fresh flavors of Spring. The sun is shining, flowers are blooming- it’s the perfect time to make yourself a fun cold drip coffee bev and head out to the garden or the beach. 

Kavnia makes the perfect base for creative drinks because it’s concentrated! You get the full flavor and nuance of the coffee without watering anything down. These cold drinks highlight some of the nuanced notes you’ll get in our brews.

The Daughter of Mazagran

  • 1 lemon, slice one half into rounds and juice the other half
  • 1-2 Tbsp simple syrup 
  • 4 oz kavnia cold drip (we suggest our medium roast for this drink) 
  • 2-4 oz sparkling water
  • Ice 

This drink can be customized to be as sweet or tart as you like- think of it as a coffee lemonade (with a hint of bubbles). Combine simple syrup, kavnia, fresh lemon juice, and sparkling water in a cup with ice. Top with a lemon slice and enjoy in the sunshine of Spring. 

 

 

C & C 

  • 6 oz Kavnia Cold Drip (we recommend our light roast)
  • 2 Tbsp cardamom syrup
  • 2 oz cold water
  • 1 orange, sliced into rounds (any type will do but we like blood orange if you can find it) 
  • Cocktail shaker & ice 

To make cardamom syrup – in a small sauce pan combine 4 Tbsp of cardamom pods with 1 cup of water and bring to a boil. Add 2 cups of sugar, stirring until dissolved. Let simmer for a few minutes, then cool and strain. 

To your shaker, add 1 orange slice, syrup, Kavnia and water + 2 big handfuls of ice. Shake vigorously and pour all the contents (even the ice) right into your glass. The shaking creates a great foam and cascading effect, almost like a nitro coffee. Garnish with another orange slice and a few shakes of cardamom powder if you happen to have it in your pantry.

The Blueberry Oat Jam

  • 1-2 Tbsp blueberry Jam
  • 4 oz Kavnia cold drip (we love the dark roast in this drink) 
  • 4 oz oat milk 
  • Ice

Add your blueberry jam to the bottom of your glass and top with Kavnia. Give it a little stir, then add a handful of ice. Top with creamy oat milk and maybe a few fresh blueberries for a garnish.
